Greenleaf Remade
Once described as “Nothing but a hallway,” this modest midcentury bungalow, bursting at the seams from the demands of a family of five, became a multi-generational home. Sparing the two things they loved—the ‘Great Room’ at the front of the house and the architectural character—the home was remade to provide a fully accessible In-Law suite on the first floor and a partial second story with a primary bedroom with ensuite bath, guest room and dedicated office. The mass of the second story was pushed to the back of the house and a new covered porch was added to the original to further downplay the new height of the new structure.
