EXISTING CONDITIONS
A one bedroom condominium was to be converted to a home studio and guest room. The renovation was to provide a flexible studio space, an 'attic' and enhance the character and function of the bedroom, buried deep within the unit.
RESPONSE.
The studio remains an open room, occupied by a collection of luminous kites, floating below the ceiling. A shallow layout table is integrated into northern window wall. A full height storage wall separates the studio from the guest room while a textured glass fountain window stitches them back together. The ‘attic’ storage is accessed from a sleeping loft within the guest room.
